Understanding Work Schedule Codes

Summary

The article explains employee work schedule codes. These codes determine the total number of days worked per year as well as report date, last day worked, holidays and other days off.

Explanation

All Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools employees have a work schedule code associated with their position that determines the total number of days worked per year as well as report date, last day worked, holidays, and other days off. Individual calendars for each work schedule code can be found in the Certificated Employee Handbook as well as the Support Employee Handbook. If you are unsure of your work schedule code, check with your timekeeper for the information.

The code, days worked, classification, pay periods, pay class, and eligibility for the 12-month pay option appears at the top of each individual work schedule code calendar. As an example, please reference the below.

Each month is coded with paydays and any days off using the key at the bottom of the individual calendar page. See the example below.

There is an additional tool for employees that presents the number of paid days per pay period by work schedule code. This is accessible in the Certificated Employee Handbook as well as the Support Employee Handbook. The number at the top of the column (i.e., 010) is the work schedule code and the second number (i.e., 220) is the total days scheduled for the year. See below example.
