Summary

This article provides information on the Money Network Pay Card program a convenient and secure way for employees of the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) to access their salaries and wages.

Instructions

The Money Network Pay Card Program offers a convenient and secure way for employees of the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools (MNPS) to access their salaries and wages. Managed by the Metro Nashville General Government, this payroll debit card provides an alternative to traditional banking, making it especially useful for employees who do not have or prefer not to use a bank account. This program is an alternative to our existing direct deposit program.

What is the Money Network Pay Card?

The Money Network Service Pay Card is a payroll debit card that allows MNPS employees to access their wages electronically. Instead of receiving paper checks or relying on direct deposit, employees can have their earnings deposited directly onto this card every payday. Additionally, employees can request checks that are linked to their Money Network Service account.

Who Receives a Pay Card?

Employees who do not actively sign up for direct deposit or the Money Network Pay Card are automatically enrolled in the Money Network Service Pay Card program, except for nonfaculty coaches and substitutes. If you are currently enrolled in direct deposit, no action is needed, unless you want to sign up for the Money Network Pay Card program. Pay Cards are delivered to the employee’s school or department bookkeeper, and employees should retain the issued card, as future wages will continue to be deposited onto it.

Setting Up Your Pay Card…

While new employees can choose to receive their salary through direct deposit or the Pay Card, it takes about one to two pay periods to set up. Until the card or direct deposit is activated, employees will receive paper checks. Once set up, employees will enjoy seamless and secure access to their wages each payday.

To enroll in the Money Network Pay Card Program, employees must complete the Authorization Form for Direct Deposit or Money Network Service Card. Once filled out, the form can be:

  • Faxed to the Payroll Division of Finance at (615) 880-2805.

  • Mailed or hand-delivered to:

    • Department of Finance, Metro Payroll Section
      PO Box 196300
      Nashville, Tennessee 37219-6300

Alternatively, employees can submit the form through their school or department’s bookkeeper.

Why Choose the Money Network Pay Card?

The Pay Card provides flexibility and security. Employees who may not have access to traditional banking can still access their wages promptly without the need for check cashing services. Additionally, the Money Network Pay Card allows employees to make purchases, pay bills, and withdraw cash at ATMs, providing a versatile solution for managing finances.
