Getting Started
Certificated employees are paid based upon degree level and the total years of teaching or administrative experience. All experience must be verified for you to be compensated at the appropriate level. Required verification documentation varies by experience type. Please see the below information for the appropriate documentation needed to verify previous experience.

Public School Experience: Submit an Experience Verification Form completed by the school district.

Private, Overseas, Charter, or Other Educational Experience: Submit an Experience Verification Form completed by the school, proof of accreditation, documentation of an active teaching license during employment, and school contact information.

Military Experience: Submit verification of active duty via a DD214 form. You are limited to five years of experience for this purpose.

University Teaching Experience: Submit a formal letter, on letterhead, from the department chair verifying the teaching position, responsibilities, and dates of employment. The department chair must include an email address and telephone number to verify this information. Please note that only full-time teaching experience counts.

CTE Teaching Experience: Engineering and nursing CTE teachers can receive up to 10 years of experience for verified experience in their respective fields. Other CTE teachers are eligible for up to 5 years of experience for verified experience in their respective fields. Submit a formal letter, on letterhead, from the entity verifying the previous field experience to include position, responsibilities, and dates of employment. The letter must include an email address and telephone number for verifying the information. Please note that only full-time employment counts.
